Building on Your Founder Foundations: Keeping Creative and Growing as a Business Leader
Protect your creative practice while stepping up as a leader.
This session focuses on you as a founder, not just the business. You’ll reflect on how your role has changed as the business has grown, identify where your leadership needs to develop next, and get hold of practical tools for protecting time for creative work amid the demands of running a company. You’ll leave with a clear, time-bound personal leadership goal.
What you’ll walk away with:
- Founder identity and role: reflect on your evolving founder role and identify one leadership development priority.
- Time management for creating and business: use a practical tool for protecting your creativity while managing the business, such as creative time blocking.
- Personal effectiveness: identify key bottlenecks and outline one decision about delegation or support.
- Leadership for growth: set a simple, three-month personal leadership or creative growth goal.
Strategic Planning for Creative Productivity, Financial Resilience and Growth
Set clear direction and build a plan that protects your creativity and your income.
This workshop helps founders step back from day-to-day delivery to think strategically. You’ll work through where your business is heading over the next 12–24 months, put that thinking into a simple, usable plan, and look closely at how resilient and profitable your current income actually is – alongside how you’re tracking creative output and impact along the way.
What you’ll walk away with:
- Strategic clarity and focus: identify the key strategic priority areas for your business over the next 12–24 months.
- Planning and decision-making: draft a simple one-page strategic plan covering your vision, priorities and milestones.
- Financial resilience: analyse one current revenue stream and identify ways to make it more resilient or profitable.
Creative productivity: define one practical metric for tracking your creative or cultural productivity and impact.
Making Sales, Not Selling Out: Increasing Income Through Better Sales
Sell with confidence, without compromising what your business stands for.
Many creative founders find sales the hardest part of running a business. This workshop reframes selling as something that can be authentic and values-led. You’ll map out your current sales process, sharpen how you talk to the customers who matter most, and pick up practical techniques for pricing and negotiation conversations you can use straight away.
What you’ll walk away with:
- Confidence and clarity in sales: describe an authentic, values-aligned sales approach suited to your creative enterprise.
- Effective sales process: map your current sales pipeline and identify one clear improvement to increase conversions.
- Segmenting key customers: craft or refine a simple, values-led pitch tailored to a priority customer segment.
- Sales communications: leave with at least one practical technique for pricing conversations or negotiations.
Sustaining, Maintaining and Growing Your Team
Get the right people in place, and get the best out of them.
As nano businesses grow, hiring and managing people well becomes a make-or-break skill. This workshop covers how to plan for the capabilities your business will need, honestly assess where your current team is strong and where the gaps are, and build practical habits for communication, delegation and performance – finishing with a concrete plan for your next hire or team development priority.
What you’ll walk away with:
- People strategy and leadership: identify the most important capabilities and roles your business needs over the next 12–24 months.
- Understanding team strengths and needs: assess your current team’s strengths and gaps using a simple framework.
- Communication and performance: apply one practical tool to improve communication, delegation or performance management.
- Team and talent development: develop a high-level hiring or development plan for one role.
